The Table is a Dinner Church, an expression of a worshiping community. Serving at The Table is more like participating in a worshiping community where we feed and are fed. Individuals are invited to cook, set the tables, eat together, enjoy conversations about life and faith, and assist in cleaning up.

  • Donate – Be a one-time or continuous supporter by donating monetarily to help us purchase ingredients or choose ingredients to purchase from our list.

Cooking Team* – A team gathers on Wednesdays (1:00 PM - 3:30 PM) and (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM) to prepare the meal. Basic cooking skills are helpful for this role.

Buffet Stations* – These individuals plate the food and serve our neighbors.

Runners – Assist with moving food pans and to-boxes from downstairs to upstairs.

Hospitality Team – Welcome and orient our neighbors to our ministries.

Table Hosts – These individuals are great conversationalists and listeners who eat alongside those sitting at their table. They are responsible for building connections with the people at their table and guiding the table in the communion liturgy and Table Talk.

Cleaning Team – Help bus the tables and clean the kitchen and serving area.

*Positions require a Food Handlers License

  • 1) Fill out HERE to let us know your interest.

    2) A leader will contact you.

  • Fill out this form to let us know you need a Food Handlers License HERE

A food handler’s permit allows you to work directly with the food (preparation, cooking, or plating food) and allows freedom to serve in any capacity at The Table. In partnership with the Jackson Health Department, we offer FREE group training sessions each Fall and Spring for you to receive your permit. If you do not want to wait, you can take the course online HERE.

No permit? No problem. There are still many positions that do not involve direct contact with the food for those who do not have a permit.

Questions? Contact: Debora Renken, Meal Coordinator, OR Abby Peper, Campus Pastor.
